While Inti shows his previous experience directing, this film represents Arantza's debut as a director, after an extensive career as a producer. With a solid track record and recognition in various genre film festivals (such as the Sitges Film Festival, the most important fantasy festival in the world), their joint vision promises to offer an intense and provocative film, capable of capturing the attention of national. and international audiences
MOTIVATION
“The Woman…” is a story born from various testimonies and reflections on sexual abuse. It seeks, through the codes and mechanisms of genre cinema, to portray fears, obsessions, consequences, and sensations around abuse. What would you do if you could go back to that day? What would you do if you could face your abuser years later? What wouldn't you do? These are some of the activating questions that set this story in motion, with a strong component of Feminist reflection.
Then, there is the dimension of Power, closely inspired by cases of sexual exploitation that have shaken the country in recent decades, always involving high-ranking influential people facing victims with a high degree of social vulnerability. We want to reflect on the views of the victims in the face of impunity, public indifference, and helplessness. To do so we propose an allegory from the world of Fantasy and Science Fiction, but with one foot in a terrible and very real drama: How to survive a terrible day that comes back, that constantly comes back to you and refuses to die? Whether a temporal paradox or deep emotional trauma, the concept forms the basis of this tale.
